The African Film Festival – FCAT – taking place this year from 28 May to 6 June – is an independent film festival, organised by the non-profit NGO Al Tarab. FCAT promotes the dissemination of African cinematography in Spain and Latin America, thus contributing to an improved mutual understanding as well as to the development of cultural and film industries.
This year FCAT is launching the FCAT LAB – an online post-production workshop that offers support to feature film projects from Africa through post-production-oriented prizes and awards. At the same time, this initiative seeks to increase the visibility and opportunities for films in post-production by introducing them to sales agents, distributors, VOD platforms and buyers in general who will attend FCAT.
The FCAT LAB 2021 will take place online within the “Palaver Tree” programme, the annual space for professional and training activities of FCAT. Parallel to the festival’s 18th edition, this year’s FCAT LAB will take place from 2-4 June 2021.
The FCAT LAB 2021 call for entries is currently open. All African feature film projects currently in post-production phase are eligible to participate and win support through the existing awards.
The registration deadline is 15 April 2021. For more information, click here.
